* A 10.4mm RIMFIRE SWISS VETTERLI MODEL 1878 BOLT ACTION SERVICE RIFLE serial number 198045, circa 1880,
with 33in. barrel having a block and blade front-sight, quadrant rear-sight, the action stamped "WAFFENFABRIK / BERN / 198045 / M.78", two piece iron mounted walnut stock, with two barrel bands the top band with bayonet lug. The Vetterli was the worlds first bolt action repeating rifle adopted by a country for general issue.
